University of the Pacific’s Sacramento campus, a vibrant location in the buzzing capital city of California, houses the McGeorge School of Law.

McGeorge School of Law strives to educate lawyers in all legal specialties in California, across the United States and around the world. As the only American Bar Association (ABA) – accredited law school in Sacramento, McGeorge offers students an exclusive insight into the governmental, policy and social changes made around them every day.



McGeorge graduate degree offerings

Master of Public Policy (M.P.P.)

The M.P.P. prepares professionals for careers to effectively make and implement public policy decisions. You will learn how to analyze and solve complex public policy issues, including how to identify and assess options for action. The curriculum has a deeply experiential focus

and requires an area of concentration.

Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.)

The M.P.A prepares professionals for successful careers in management and leadership positions as advocates for change in making and implementing public policies. Students may also elect a concentration as a basis for launching a career or developing expertise in a field of interest.


Experiential Learning

Every students at the McGeorge School of Law completes a combination of the externships, legal clinics and practicum courses.

On-campus Clinics:

Students are placed in the role of an attorney in a law office setting to serve low-income clients in areas of:

  • Bankruptcy

  • Elder and Health Law

  • Immigration Law

Hybrid Clinics:

MeGeorge has partnered with important community partners to allow students to navigate a variety of legal challenges:

  • Federal Defender Clinic

  • Legislative and Public Policy Clinic

  • Prisoner Civil Rights Mediation Clinic
