Online Quizzes
Kahoot has thousands of free quizzes which you can play with friends from your own home. They have hundreds of different topics. From general knowledge to art, and geography to roman history, they even have a quiz on sandwiches! Or to make it even more fun you can make your own quiz, pick your topic and test your mates.
Gooses Quizzes are a team of professional Quiz Masters from Scotland who are doing their quizzes from home during the lockdown. The quizzes are live on Twitch every night at 7pm UK time or you can watch old episodes at any time. It feels just like a traditional pub quiz, so pour yourself a drink and join them!
You could even make your own quiz and become the quiz master! Here’s a great article on the BBC with some hints and tips, it’s also a great article to practice your reading skills and learn some new vocabulary. If you would like some help on how to save new vocabulary check our our teacher Cat’s article here.

A great way to develop your language skills and socialise with your friends. Pick a book, set a deadline to read it by and meet up virtually to discuss what you thought about it. Some great questions to start with could be:
Who was your favourite character and why?
What did you like / didn’t like about the book?
How did the book make you feel?
Was there a hidden message or theme in the book?
What did you think of the ending? Did you expect it to end that way?
What do you think happens next to the main characters?
